maybe i will become a fan of it too, i want to understand more about linux, and i heard that arch linux will help more than debian because it's more challenging, i hope it's true :)

I like Debian, the distro uses only fully tested versions of software (it could be bad if you like last versions). Arch is solid, I love it, few automations. xD

if i like the new softwares i download the sources and compile them, but blender and truecrypt and gimp are the only tools i use, and blender comes with no need for compilation or dependency problems :D
i'll dd the iso to my usb and test the live version and see if i like it

Cool... :)

Arch has an online sources database (AUR), you can download and compile new sources like an "apt-get" command (dependencies are linked to each source info). You can use binaries database too.

i don't have internet on my pc, but i don't need much software, only gimp, blender, vlc and truecrypt, they're not too hard to compile (not like virtualbox)

I'll check binary versions from pacman database...

Blender: 2.70a-5
Gimp:
2.8.10-1
VLC:
2.1.4-2
Truecrypt:
7.1a-2

I think only Truecrypt is not the new version (7.2).
